Terms of use
Last updated 23 September 2026
Agreement
These terms apply when you use Door-Let, which is provided by Doorlet Private Limited, a company registered in India. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. When we make a material change to them we will post it here and update the date at the top of this page.
Your account
- You sign in with Google, or with a one time code sent to your email address. Keep that email account secure, because it controls access to yours.
- You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.
- Accounts are for landlords and the people they authorise to manage their property.
Your responsibilities for renter data
When you record details about a renter, you are the one deciding what is collected and why. You are responsible for having a proper basis to hold that information, for telling your renters how it is used, and for keeping it accurate.
Door-Let processes that renter information on your behalf, to provide the service to you: to store and organise it, to run the features you use, and to keep the service secure, supported and within the law. We do not use it for any purpose of our own beyond that, and we handle it as the privacy policy describes.
Please do not upload documents you have no right to hold, and do not use Door-Let to contact people who have asked you not to.
What the AI features do and do not promise
Door-Let uses automated systems to read documents, draft reminder messages and summarise your position. These are proposals, not decisions.
- Extracted document details should be checked before you rely on them.
- Payments can be recorded against the charge they settle. Check the amount and renter before you rely on the record.
- AI-written reminder drafts are shown for your review. Separately, Door-Let may send the pre-written transactional WhatsApp messages described below when a product event triggers one.
- Insight summaries are a reading of your data, not financial, legal or tax advice. Door-Let is not an accountant and is not a substitute for one.
WhatsApp tenant channel
If you invite a renter to use Door-Let through WhatsApp, you must first have the right number and their agreement to tenancy contact there. The confirmation in the app is a factual statement by you, not a substitute for asking the renter.
Door-Let may send pre-written transactional WhatsApp messages automatically after an invitation, renter answer, join request, payment entry or other enabled tenancy event. These can include an acknowledgement, a connection welcome, the answer to a join request, or a payment receipt. Rent notices are sent only when you ask for one. The feature and its controls may differ by account. You remain responsible for the renter and tenancy data you enter and for correcting a wrong number promptly.
Do not try to work around Not me or STOP. Those choices can block a new invitation and may require the number holder to start a new join request before contact can resume. Turning a feature off stops future sends; it cannot recall a message already delivered.
Money
Door-Let records and reconciles payments. Where payment collection is enabled, funds move through a licensed payment provider and not through Door-Let. We do not hold your money.
Your records are yours. You can export your reports from the app at any time. There is no one click download of everything yet: ask us for a copy and we will put it together and send it to you.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and to fix problems quickly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, provider outages and faults will happen. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Liability
Door-Let is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for loss arising because you relied on an automated suggestion without checking it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You may stop using Door-Let and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully or in a way that endangers other people’s data, and we will tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
